Villa Graciosa is a four-bedroom luxury villa in Quinta do Lago, set inside the gates of Pinheiros Altos Golf Resort with terraces that look straight out across the fairways. Three en-suite bedrooms sit in the main house; a fourth, in its own annex across the gardens, gives one couple — or a pair of teenagers — a degree of independence that most villas of this size can't offer. At the centre of the grounds is the 6x11 metre pool, which is a properly generous stretch of water rather than the token rectangle the phrase "private pool" often turns out to mean.
It's managed year-round by our own team here in the Algarve, so the pool is clear, the gardens are cut and someone answers the phone.

Inside Villa Graciosa
The main living space runs through to the dining area and kitchen, with the terrace doors along one side — which in practice means that from about mid-morning the house is open to the garden and stays that way until the evening cools.
The kitchen is fully fitted and sits directly alongside the dining table, so whoever is cooking isn't exiled from the conversation. The TV and seating area is arranged around the fireplace and facing the garden, and works as the room everyone drifts back to after dinner.
The west facing terraces and garden mean the light in the sitting room in the late afternoon with golf views both from the lounge and dining areas are exquisite.

Bedrooms
Three  bedrooms at Villa Graciosa are en-suite.
Master suite — Located on its own on the first floor with a king size bed with a private terrace offering views over the pool, garden and golf courses of Pinheiros Altos and Quinta do Lago, and an en-suite with bath and walk-in shower. 
Bedroom two — offering twin single beds, shower room, with direct access to outdoor terraces and the garden and pool areas.
Bedroom three — Super King size double bed,  en-suite shower room with direct access to a terrace leading out to the private gardens and pool area.
Garden annex — a self-contained twin bed bedroom with its own en-suite, set apart from the main house within the grounds. It suits couples travelling together who'd rather not share a landing, grandparents who want to turn in early, or older children who'd rather not turn in at all. it has ensuite bathroom and small kitchenette. 

The Pool, Gardens and Terraces
The pool is 6x11 metres, set within the gardens rather than pushed to the boundary — big enough to swim lengths in properly, which is rarer than it should be at this level of villa. Offering both shallow and deep end and also west facing means it receives sunshine all the way through unit the end of the day, ideal of evening fun around the pool. 

The terraces are where the house makes its case. They look out over the fairways of Pinheiros Altos and across towards the Quinta do Lago courses, and the view is across the golf is framed by pine trees, the low light on the pines in the evening, providing a tranquil sunset view.  There are two shaded outside seating areas and sun loungers around the pool and the gardens are Mediterranean style consisting of established pines and olives, rosemary, succulents and palms. 

About Pinheiros Altos and Quinta do Lago
Villa Graciosa sits inside Pinheiros Altos, a gated golf resort within Quinta do Lago. The setting is quieter and greener than the busier stretches nearer the lagoon, but everything Quinta do Lago is known for is within a few minutes' drive.

Quinta do Lago South, North and Laranjal — within 5 minutes drive.

For a golf holiday in Quinta do Lago this is close to the ideal position. Pinheiros Altos is on the doorstep — its 27 holes run through pine, olive and cork woodland — and Quinta do Lago South, North, Laranjal and San Lorenzo are all a short drive away.

The Beach and the Ria Formosa
Praia do Ancão is 10 minutes from the villa or Quinta beach you cross the wooden footbridge over the Ria Formosa Natural Park to reach it — a protected lagoon system of tidal channels and saltmarsh that's worth the walk on its own, particularly early, when the birdlife is up and the light is still low over the water. 

Eating Nearby
Almancil is five minutes away and has more good restaurants per square metre than anywhere else in the Algarve. Within a short drive you also have Koko Lane, Casa do Lago on the lagoon, Bovino, Umami, Gigi's on the beach], plus the Pinheiros Altos clubhouse restaurant for the nights nobody wants to drive. We'll book tables as part of the concierge service — in July and August, a week's notice is realistic for the places worth going to.
